Looking at these pictures, and the others you have up in Pt2, you have a very original machine on your hands.
The only things that seem out of place to me are the air filter box, and the missing grip on the height lever. I may be able to help you with at least one of these.
What does the octagonal sticker on the top of the black cooling cowl say?
Cheers Ty

Isn't that a Castrol sticker? If so, it may be dealer-fitted.

Hi Grumpy, The sticker in question is the victa engine sticker, it should say 'Series Seventy' and then have the specific Mark. MKI & MKII were trianglular stickers, MKIV was octagonal, and off the top of my head, I cannot remenber what MKIII was, but part of me suspects Trianglular. This mower should have a MKIII engine, as it is to new for MKII, but has the throttle cable outside the air hose, whitch was last seen on the G3 carburettor, and this carrburettor was last run on the MKIII engine. I am trying to work out if there was indeed an octagonal MKIII sticker, or if somone has at some point fitted a MKIV cowl, whitch is a common practise (people dont really wory about the sticker when replacing a rusty cowl, and often they get mixed up) Coincidently, there should be a factory fitted fuel sticker, for BP Zoom, it would have been a green sticker, and if you look near the fuel cap, you will see two slots (These contain the pegs that the tank spring holds onto) the BP sticker would hav sat on the side of the cowl, covering the slot that appears to the right side of the mower, when facing front on, as above. You can just make it out on the side of the cowl, in THIS PHOTO.
Cheers Ty

Just to add, Having a look at the other photos in the gallery, it indeed reads 'MARK 3' so this sticker is correct, and the MKIII sticker indeed came out in Octagon.
Cheers Ty

Thanks Ty, I'm obviously not a sticker person. I tend to read the specification sheet, try to check whether the product works, and even years later I won't know what the model was. It's much the same whether it is cars or lawnmowers.

Worked out what you need yet?
I can tell you the air filter canister is wrong, it should be the same as the VC-160's.
Looking through my records, it is supposed to be the black variant, Like the VC-160 MKI.
I can provide Front wheels, The Height lever grip and the air-canister.
It may also be missing a cover that goes over the rear of the gear box, if so, there may be one on the scrap Auto-drive I have here for you.
Cheers Ty

I think the only missing part i cant provide is the hubcap, apart from that, I'm sure Jeffery can have this one looking amazing in no time, and I belevie it already runs!

Not really sure what's it's missing Ty.You would know more about it.As you know this is only my first one.I didn't even know it should have had a guard for gear box. What I do know is yes the air filter is wrong and it does need a hub cap.Is that the correct starter handle? Also the fuel gauge part of the fuel cap has like been melted,I believe Johno put it up on one of the posts. It is suppose to run but I haven't tried it yet.Have been a busy boy.

The melted fuel gave is usually a result of ethanol fuel!
I will have to check if that model has the gearbox cover, it is a MKII gearbox, however I'm almoast certain it does.
I'm not sure about the hande, i have seen that mustang block handle on a few auto drives, but it seems out of place to me, let me check a few of my sources.
Cheers Ty
