G'day, To me that pull start looks like one off a vc victa?, I doubt that would be original anyway seeing as the rest of the mower is cast aluminum. Anyway it is a great find none the less! Regards jay

Hi Steve
I recognize that mower straight away, as we had one similar. It was our first powered mower, and I still have the orig operating instruction booklet.
Its a Lawn Patrol 18, made by Boundy Manuf Co., a susidiary of Wiltshire File Co. They were made in Melb and Brisbane, between 1953 until early 60s.
Boundy made other models, but the Patrol was the upmarket mod with 9 pos height adjust., and in silver baked enamel. From memory they were quite reliable, but no match to Victa. I have been searching for a Patrol for a long time, so if ever you want to sell or trade, let me know I am always interested.
Hope this helps you. Cheers mate Ajay

Hi ajay, you are the legend mate, I am originally from Brisbane, and I have never seen one like it, yet they were made there....It's great when an oldie like this can be positively identified and for you to have an original operating instruction booklet for it!! I hope Steve restores it; it would look fantastic!

yes that tube is the petrol tank, from what i can find out the ebay listing is the lawn scout/cub or an earlier lawn patrol, the mower in the picture doesn't have the cowling. there are different models in this though as per pic(thanks to Andrew's mower pics vintage mowers) HERE!
