Yes, that one's a classic. It needs to be preserved, Shedpest. They are not all that rare, but I don't think the greenkeepers let go of them until they are way, way gone.

Hi Shedpest, You're right there mate, what a ripper! Congrats on a great score... What you have there is a Scott Bonnar Model 16 "Queen" that were manufactured in Adelaide, introduced in 1950 in 20" and 24" cutting widths, you will have to measure to see which one you have. Are you going to restore it and did it come with its catcher? Here is an advert from an early Scott Bonnar brochure...

I love the Promo poster Deejay We gave her a run over the lawn Sunday, and it works a treat No catcher was included, is there someone who makes them ? The plan is to restore it one day,the main thing is that it runs and cuts(got a few other resto projects going at the moment which are sucking up a lot of time and money so it will have to wait) Regards Pest

Bob, you're probably on the wrong website to get someone to help you rape a restorable, rare classic mower so you can use the bits for general purpose parts. You are more likely to attract cries of outrage.
But I suspect you knew that.

i have a very similar motor here a mk20 pulled from a scrap metal pile, cleaned the points and carb and it still goes first hit, the govenor is broken though and you have to manually adjust the throttle.

Yeah sure did Grumpy.
I need a Mk25HS for dads old restorable, rare classic landmaster rotary hoe. but i suppose if i wasnt so lazy i could fix the motor on it.
Hmmm Mk20, makes me wonder. I doubt it would work, and would need to fix the govenor.
Bob.
