Hi folks, this is the engine I have purchased to pop onto the edger frame to give back to the relos. It starts and runs very well but .............. it hunts a little in the mid range. I have tried the mixture screw as Grumpy has advised me before on the 12HP I wrote about earlier. Whilst that motor did it at idle and seemed to run better elsewhere this 3.5 does it in the midrange. Seeing the relo runs it close to full throtte during use I'm not too concerned but how do you iron it out of the mid? I had a good play with the screw and it did improve but not eliminate the issue. This is the motor; ![[Linked Image from i3.photobucket.com]](http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y86/aldotalks/DSC00509.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i3.photobucket.com]](http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y86/aldotalks/DSC00510.jpg)

First thing to check is that the governor spring is undamaged and the air vane and its governor linkage are friction-free. You might check the air cleaner: if it is restricted, the mixture will get richer as the speed and load increase, which makes carburetor adjustment difficult. Check that the muffler is not restricted. Aside from that, you could tune the engine - tappet clearance, clean carburetor, replace diaphragm, new spark plug. It is probably one of those things, and other than the tune-up they are cheap and easy to check.

Hi Tezza, just wondering, the chassis of your Lawn King looks fantastic, but are you going to re-finish your catcher to have it matching the rest of your restored machine? Also there are metal cable clips that will hold the throttle and clutch cables in place on the handle (which is in fantastic original condition) that will look totally in keeping with your chassis restoration, rather than the black insulation tape.
Please do not PM me asking for support. Please post your questions in the appropriate forums, as the replies it may receive may help all members, not just the individual member. Kindest Regards, Darryl

Hi Tezza I bought a complete Rover edger off of ebay for $180. The edger frame is in excellent condition. So I pulled the engine off of it and put it on my grandfathers old well worn frame, well not so worn frame but the wheels are shot and the cutter gaurd it beyond repair. I will install my grandfathers engine on the tidy frame. the engine is what it important to me. The edger frames are the same series no. as stamped on the base.
