i put a victa 160cc together and had no control over the speed. i couldn't turn it off and it was reving way to fast. i have checked the carby and adjusted the screw in the wearplate. what else could it be?

yes it is a black carby. it has an a, b or c speed setting. i was told to put in on c. i adjusted this yesterday as it was on a or b, but now the engine runs for less than 3 seconds, if that. it also looked like there was petrol leaking out of the decompressor. is one of the hoses supposed to go from the decompressor to the vaccum?

check that all vacuum hoses are in good cond and connected properly. if they are, replace starter housing o ring and carby manifold o ring. see how this goes.

Make Sure that you have connected the throttle cable properly inside the carburettor. These can be difficult to re connect.
