I need to order some parts for a McCulloch line trimmer but I don't know the part numbers.
Its a Titan 2030 Model No 400060. The serial number is missing. Carb is a WT346
I need...... Air Filter Spark Plug Carb Gasket Kit Throttle Cable Fuel filter (in tank) Fuel Hose. (hose in tank appears to be too short and only just touches bottom. Return hose length looks ok though)
If I can get the part numbers I will order them online.
Also, do I need to grease the main drive cable to make it last longer or is it a sealed unit? I have Victa Formula V oil for my mower, can I use this at 50:1 in the trimmer?
Appreciate any help you guys can offer.

Thanks Bruce. Do I need to grease the main drive cable at all? Is there a replacement throttle cable avaliable? Also the air filter is missing completely. Is it possible to purchase some filter material and make one up? The last owner had a kitchen sponge in there....

Hi guy's, need some advice again. Still working on the trimmer that i've mentioned above. Can't get it to run properly. Very hard to start and will only run with the choke on. Won't idle at all. I've cleaned out the carby and replaced all the gaskets. I've adjusted both mixture screws so they are open 1 and a half turns. I'm pretty sure the float level is ok. The float lever where it meets the spring is about level with the carb body. I've replaced the spark plug. Cleaned the carb in solvent and blown it out with compressed air. Would it be possible the ignition could be the problem? It has a spark but it looks abit weak. Is there anyway of testing if the spark is good enough? Anything else I should check? The trimmer wasn't running when it was given to me...
I'd appreciate any help you can offer....thanks.

I'd appreciate any help you can offer....thanks. Have you checked the cylinder for any damage through the exhaust port?

Hi Bruce, Yeh I had a look but could only see some very slight scoring on the cylinder wall and the it seems to have compression when I pull start it. I blew carb cleaner thru both jets and they don't seem to be blocked. When it runs at open throttle it seems to be ok but anything less than that with the choke off and it dies. I think my neighbour had a go at fixing it before he gave it to me so he may have changed something..... Could it be an ignition problem? Should I be looking at anything else?.

How does the piston and rings look when you look through the exhaust port? slight scoring on the bore could indicate significant damage to the alloy piston.

Thanks Joe. I'll take a closer look at the piston on the weekend. Is there anyway of testing if the spark is strong enough?

Trimmer is all fixed and running ok. The gasket was installed on the wrong side of the needle and seat diaphram. Reassembled, readjusted the mixtures and it's 100% better. When I had the carb apart though I lost the small fuel filter screen. Is it possible to just purchase the filter screen without buying a whole new gasket kit?
