Have you downloaded the workshop manual from the parts list area of the forum.

It sounds like you have not cleaned the main jet correctly or the governor is sticking.

I have checked the governor and it seems to be working correctly. I wanted to know if not having the correct blade disc and blades on could affect the engine speed. At the moment the mower has a bar blade fitted to it, however it does not fit onto the blade boss very well (blade boss is wider the bar blade fits onto - just) and is just done up as tight as i could get it.
Would putting the correct blade assembly on help the engine rev properly?
