Went out the front this morning and saw a mower sitting behind a rubbish clean up pile up the road. So i went up to look at it and now its in the back yard. I have never used this style of mower before but i have figured out how to start it but how does the fuel switch work? it has a push pull type switch. It has a Kirby Tecumesh plate on the front of the motor. Can anyone give me any other information on it like age etc? It also has DAWSON MK14 on the back of it behind the motor.

Cheers

Josh

Ok i figured it out. The fuel switch needs new O-rings as they are hard and it leaks fuel out the switch. I had to put a new spring and arm on the starter switch as the old one broke when i was trying to get it started. It runs but it hunts for fuel so i might pull the carby apart and give it a really good clean out.

Cheers

Josh

That is a great looking original machine, I would leave him as-is and the value will go up in years to come.

I believe it had a aluminium shoot out the left hand side as there is a hole there and a stud to mount something on. However the shoot is gone.

LOL my partner told me that when I had 3 or 4 mowers, I just kept forgetting that she said no more. It was easy at first to hide one here and there in the shed or behind it.

There is well over 60 around here at any one time now, bit hard to hide them!

I'm in love with this Mower.. cuts the grass like a bowling green and is so easy to use. It has the opening for a shoot out the left hand side on it.. I was thinking of making a shoot to fit it out of some stainless i have here. Good idea? Also it has the provisions for a Catcher... What are my chances of finding one?.. As i would much rather use this to do my lawns than any other mower i have here..

Hey Daryl. Its the same one as in the top of the topic... Rather than start a new topic i just revived this one.. as i would really like to keep using this mower instead of my others. But i need a catcher to fit it
