Hi all i have been given a honda HR194 thats about 15 yrs old to fix. The thing smokes from the word go so im putting new rings in it for the guy. I have the rings but taking this boss off to take the crankcase apart is proving to be a royal pain. The way im trying to get it off is to support the engine about 20mm from the ground by 2 pieces of solid steel under the "boss plate" which the "ninja" blade attaches to. Using wd40 didnt work. I have 2 sources of heat (air-propane which all of you probable had and oxy-acetlylene which some of you might not) I have tried a little heat but i am afraid that the bearing seal might melt been so close. I would really love some clues as to getting this off as i have had it for a week and dont want to see it anymore (I went to the snow) thanks so much!

Hi Jeffro, that might be a good suggestion, mate, as, if they stuff it up, they have to pay for it!

Jeffro, It sounds like the key must be sheared because those blade bosses usually slide off easily. We will be uploading the workshop manual for that model today into the parts list and manuals area of the forum.
