Hey Webby, have you checked the starter 'O' ring, it may be sucking air, resulting in a leaner mixture. ;)I know, simple solution, but one you may have overlooked.
Please do not PM me asking for support. Please post your questions in the appropriate forums, as the replies it may receive may help all members, not just the individual member. Kindest Regards, Darryl

yeh, its sealed well.
i dno if this should be in a new thread, but anyway, what is the best method to put a horizontal shaft on the engine, i understand 2 strokes can be tilted and left on there side, but the carb im using would not allow that due to the position of the float, i thought of belt drive twisted, but that only puts strain on the motor, shafts & bearing.
thanx

G'day, I believe all victa engines prior to power torque had invertible inlet manifolds that allowed the carby to he set horizontal. Im not to sure about the powetorque thought. Aside from the carby I would not recommend that you run the disc direct on the engine because, #1 seeing as theres only one bearing it will put so much stress on it, causing it to fail in no time, putting your 10mm piece of plate off centre - possibly with catastrophic results. #2 The powertorque has a tapered shaft with a threaded end, so there is no 'safe' way to mount the disc. Even if you welded it to the boss you would still only have 2 of weld holding it there! Im sure you could pick up a horizontal Briggs if you looked around. The other day I could have had 2 trashed but rebuildable 2008 OHV v twins for $70! (The cost of rebuilding isnt worth it when you have no current use). Regards jay

ah k, well i didn't rly want to go direct drive, because i need it geared down to 1:2 or 1:3, direct drive as you said would definately reck the engine. i'll be taking a visit to the recovery centre at the tip, hopefully will find a descent motor thats cheap.
