Roscoe,

Remove the fuel filter in the carby and then follow the direction for setting up the mixture screws. cheers2

Hi Bruce,

I have the same problem on an almost new trimmer that has had little use. Can you advise where I can find the mixture adjustment instructions ?

mudcruzn,

If you use the search button at the top of the forum you will what you are looking for.

I would also suggest removing the fuel filter in the carby and if that fails then go to the parts list and manuals area for the workshop manual. cheers2

Thanks Bruce.

It looks like it needs a special tool to adjust the mixture screws (which I don't have) so I guess it's off to the local service place.

Bruce,

Looking about the shed I found that the tip from a silicone (or similar) tube will neatly fit over the spline adjusting screws and this is enough to adjust them to get a decent idle and run setting.

mudcruzn,

The suppliers are getting really desperate in order to stop the average person from doing minor repairs like tuning the carbies.

I did come across that issue some time back which required a special tool which I will be offering on the shop once I can get supply. cheers2

mowernut,

If you have a close look you will be able to adjust the screws for the mixture but will need a special tool to do it. cheers2
