For a late model 20" self propelling 2 stroke Victa MCD502A, I need to know the correct position for the poppet valve & the jet size. A chart on jet sizes, poppet positions, & governor springs would be great. Thank you, Richard

What problems are you having with the motor?

Hi Bruce, it is running lean, won't 4 stroke under no load, over reving & inclined to hunt. with no signs of air leaks. Has 2 ring jet, poppet set with C to spray port. Cheers, Richard

excoastmower, I would be checking the foling order: 1.Check top 'O' ring on starter. 2.Check 'O' ring behind the carby spout. 3.Check 'O' ring on spout. 4.Check where main jet screw, screws into the plastic is not cracked. Try running the engine after each step and let us know what the out come is.

Tried all that Bruce. I seem to remember that these models ran with the poppet valve in a different position, & wanted to confirm that. I would like to try the next richer jet but can't remember the sequence of rings.

excoastmower, To make the mixture richer use either 'A' or 'B'. I don't understand what you mean by rings are they the piston rings or are you talking about the diaphragms and springs.

The jets are graded in flow [ richness ] by the number of rings inscibed on the face of the jet, from 0 to 3. They don't follow a logical order. Victa released a service bulletin which listed their flow rates according to the number of rings, & that is what I would like to find.
