Hi, I am trying to get an old hedge trimmer firing again after not running for more than ten years. Im not an expert clearly, so please bear with me. I got a gasket set and I replaced the pump side with the disc and put the gasket on the carb side. The fuel line in side with the bulb has a membrane and gasket as existing, the same as numbers 3 and 4 in the photo. The replacement set came with additional membranes 2 and 5, which is a mesh type. 4 is a gasket. I have tried putting them all in, and just 3 and 4 which were as existing. It fires and runs for a few seconds and then cuts out. I have checked that fuel is running to the carb and it is. If anyone has any helpful advice I would appreciate this.

You need to replace the metering diaphragm as well also replace the fuel filter in the tank.
