Got it running nicely but leaking from tank vent which sits atop the fuel tank. Can get a new one but wondering if the old is servicable/repairable? Problem is it looks delicate and may get mashed trying to remove it. Worth a try ?

Please find attached parts list for the trimmier.
Note that it would be cheaper just to buy a replacement breather (generic).
I guess it depends how much you want to spend and how bad the parts are ,if you use Stag jointing paste to seal the tank vent that is about $19. and when I did a quick search on a new tank vent that was $11.
Silastic is no good around fuel as it breaks down with fuel.
Personally I would never spend over $20. fixing a line trimmer as the tip shops sell them from $5. to $15. and a lot of the time there is nothing wrong with them also I only ever sold them for $30. for a working one and most were barely used .I had lots of snippers with virtually no carbon on the top of the piston they looked brand new but just threw them out in scrap.
A lot of the plastic tanks on snippers are very cheap plastic and if I was given a brand new snipper with a cracked tank I'd just convert them to a Briggs alloy tank.
