Good morning all,

Decided it was time to give the edger some love after noticing a knocking sort of sound with a reluctance to rev up/spin the blades.

Worked my way through the myriad of screws holding the plastic housing together to find the shaft and splines. Nothing untoward that my untrained eye can see but when spin the shaft I can here the the noise.

It's being made by a small gap or lack of engagement between the two spline faces.

How much grease should be here? would more grease solve the problem, or should I be checking something else too?

Used a kids panadol syringe to pack grease behind the larger spline.

Seems to have fixed the knocking sound.

Wl need to adjust the low and high idle screw though as it still doesn't want to rev.

Cheers
