Hello ODK history lovers
In the old days of the ‘catalogue company’,
Queensland Pastoral Supplies [QPS] were a Brisbane
institution, serving capital and regional Queensland and
Northern New South Wales customers. I record them here
because, post war, QPS became both lawnmower agents,
and then mower manufacturers in their own right.

This record discusses the 1957-58 Catalogue [extract]
as it depicts QPS lawnmower and outboard offerings.

QPS catalogues presented the ‘Silent Salesman’ to
regional buyers through a comprehensive catalogue
that covered all areas: from household needs,
recreational needs, building needs, rural needs and
hardware. It covered everything imaginable for rural folks.

You could buy a boring plant from a catalogue!

PART TWO – The Mower & Outboard - Page Extracts
QPS offered a full range of lawnmowers for 1957-58 –
from other makes and their own brands.

Push Mowers: -
QPS offered the major AUS brands here: Qualcast,
Pope, Ogden, Purcell, and their own Cambridge
push mower. They also offered the imported
Folbate [also Qualcast].

Power Reels: -
QPS offered the AUS Pope, Mobilco, and their own
offering, the Cambridge Powered Sidewheel. QPS
also offered imported power reels – Atco, Greens
and Royal Enfield.

Rotary Mowers: -
QPS sold their own make, the Cambridge De Luxe.

Outboards: -
The Conqueror outboard presents as another QPS brand.
Note that the power unit could be converted to a QPS lawnmower!
