Hi Gadge, hopefully the knee replacements go well everybody I know who has had them done are thrilled with the results. My hip replacement 18 months ago is excellent. I had no medical problems till I hit 70, only time I went to the doctor was when I broke bones due to accidents. These days I need a book to keep track of all my medical appointments. Hi AVB, those bp figures are a bit of a worry. What I find these days when I meet up with friends we all seem to end up talking about what aches and pains you have, what operations you have had recently and comparing your medication list, and how good this or that tablet works
I was talking with my son in NZ this morning and he was talking about the person who was going to take over the department he set up and has been running for about 4 years. He was complaining that this bloke was just not going to cut the mustard. He was their contracts manager that job disappeared due to covid. He has no hands on experience, even though he is a sparkie, and my son has to take over his new role in 2 weeks travelling around NZ doing branch training so he won't be in the office to assist when things go belly up. Bit sad when you can tell your son he has turned into a curmudgeon
The first long term job that I quit was trying train my placement or to familiarize him with the equipment that I was maintaining there. After two days he barked that he knew everything and didn't need any help. Well I went on with the finishing of the new office networked computer system and let him have at it. Two weeks went by when things started piling up because he had no idea to repair simple things.
After I was ask to help get the equipment repaired I sent him out of the office and repaired the 20 office calculators that day and was done.He came back and wanted to know what I did to get things repaired and I just said they are repaired now and walked out. Boy was I being a royal pain but don't like know it all as none of us know everything.
A week later went work at the new job and it was a learning on the fly job but at least I had some experience, knew to refer to the service manuals, and knew when to ask for help when needed.
After being gone 8 yrs I went back to work for that employer and found out that guy didn't even make 6 months before he was fired.
As for the BP number they finally getting stable around 135/95 average which the top number where the doctor said he was shooting for. I know meds that work for one may not work another. IT is kinda an experiment to find the right mix.
Hi speedy, I guess the thread is finished as I no longer have a possum problem, cut down the Liquid Amber tree and since then the possums have not returned. Getting much better sleeps these days
