Hi all,

Looking for a heavy duty - self propelled walk behind mower A01398 Link Belt, this is for a rover.

Any idea where I can find one?

Thanks

Hello DrHenk

Maybe a member has better info than I have.
Finding NOS link belts is unlikely now.

When I first looked at the Rover HD 25 the most obvious oddity was the
link belt. I had never seen one before on a rotary mower, but it made
sense for the application. It was old technology by the 1960s.

Acquiring a link belt for this mower should not be a great problem.

A local power-train supplier (like a bearing seller) should
be able to identify the pulley profile for a top-ling belt.

Hope this helps.

Wondering if a suitable replacement belt number has been identified? For a while I just used an old car v-belt on my Rover HD 25 that seemed to work okay. I eventually had to buy a new belt so settled on a slightly smaller A870/A33 belt. These are a very common belt and available just about everywhere. A tight fit, but seems to work as it should. I should add however that the motor has been replaced on mine with a larger Honda, which means the pulleys run a bit out of alignment. The belt seems to stay on there but probably wears out a bit faster. I haven't had any major dramas with it.
