Hey forum,
So I have a Sthil BR200 backpack blower. The flange underneath the primer bulb is shot, I think. The primer bulk pushes air down the line, but won’t draw any fuel back up. Ive replaced the diaphragm and seal, but it still won’t draw fuel.

I’m guessing the easiest option is to just get a new/refurbished carb, but they simply don’t seem to exist!

The Sthil OEM part number is 4241 120 0625. It is a zama carb. No matter how many different ways I try no search will find a replacement anywhere, except one in the USA for $300!!

It keeps showing carbs for a BR56. Is this cross comparable?

Any help would be great. Thanks.

First thing first; have you accidentally reversed the fuel lines or have you replaced the lines?

Maybe this is actually available in the down under land on evilbay. Currently out stock so they may not be available to order either

As for how the primer works the white fitting in the above linked item is the return line and black fitting is the pickup line. As press the primer bulb air/fuel is discharge through the return and as you release fuel is pull into carburetor via the pickup line.

In the last few years I have been having more than a fair share of these flanges (primer bases) to be failing and they cost nearly as much as complete replacement carburetor. Personally Stihl really has mess up Zama by barring them selling anything that is Stihl used only items. This has really been a boom for after market suppliers like DC Spares and Carb Tech but they have yet to cover everything,.
