I finally beat it by drilling out the centre of the shaft with a 17 mm drill bit. That allowed me to drive out the shaft because the resultant thin wall of the shaft offered less resistance. Thanks everybody for the helpful suggestions. Now to make the roller ends!
Thanks every body for your advice. Had no luck finding the roller ends so I turned some out of Delrin and inserted a roller bearing each and she's running like a beauty. Now I want to make a bed-knife sharpener but I am not sure what the angle of the edge of the blade is. Rather than take the blade off to measure the angle, does anybody have that info please?
I`m very new to reel mowers but i bought my first one. I believe it is a Morrison Olympic 500, i came to this conclusion from a previous post which had a PDF of the parts list. i looked over the 400, 500 and 600 and the 500 is the closest match. I have an issue with the clutch not pulling the mower when i engage the clutch handle. What could be this issue? In the photos i am pointing to a bolt, should this screw into an internal thread of the clutch plate mechanism with the external thread, that i am pointing to with the screwdriver? I`m also buying a new clutch cable as the old one is shot. Thanks in advance for any help.
