G'day wce
Many thanks for spotting and posting.

It was a memorable couple of years when the first one appeared years' ago.
With no badge, It took a bit of research to identify it.

Cheers
Jack

I was lucky enough to purchase the Colda. The owner informed me the mower had been bought new by his father and he himself had mowed with it in his younger days. However, the mower had sat idle for more than 40 years. After cleaning the carburettor, muffler and fuel tank, replacing the condenser in the Hurricane motor and cleaning and resetting the points, the motor started first pull. Apart from over revving, it is running beautifully. Unfortunately the base has considerable damage at the back and numerous other cracks in the alloy. It does however, retain some of its original emerald green paint and red from the handle bars. The conundrum remains repaint it or refurbish it. In the short term I will replace the pulley with a Hurricane pulley and recut the thread on the top and bottom of the shaft.

It had a very apt name... until it was woken up.

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!
