Hi,

New to the site, so probably doing the wrong thing............ but, I inherited a Lawn Hornet about 8-9 years ago from a relative and up to now it has worked quite well.

The primer bulb has split and so it no longer starts - does start, but conks out after a few secs when the fuel is drained from the line.

I live in Brisbane (inner west) and am having absolutely no joy in terms of getting a replacement part. The local mower repair places have deemed Ryobi stuff to be cheap `hardware store junk' with no interest in handling them. Ryobi main office fobs you off to Bunnings, who have much the same interest in getting in Ryobi parts other than string and bump stops as the foregoing mower repair shops (maybe more polite about it, but no more helpful in practice).

My question is - is there anywhere in Brisbane that works on Ryobi gear and might sell me a new or second hand bulb primer? failing that, is there an alternative brand part that might interchange with the present push snap in Ryobi part?

Thanks for that advice - I did note from one of the chat sites that Ryobi and Mac primer bulbs are generally interchangeable.

I also noticed from the general trimmer site quite a few similar problems of cracked bulbs and general replies that these were commonly available from most mower repair places.

So, I cast the net a bit wider and found a repair place near my work who had the part. Like the others near home, he was still not all that complimentary about Ryobi stuff - but I got a positive result which was what I was really looking for.

Really found the site to be A1 in terms of useful advice.

Cheers
