Just purchased myself a Scott Bonnar Model 17 Supercut and intending to bring it back to its former glory.
Never looked into old mowers before more of a car / bike guy, but moved house recently into a 1920 bungalow with a couch lawn front and back, apparently these type of mowers are perfect for couch and it definitely suits the era of my new home.
Know nothing about these machines really but one came up at a reasonable price and in what seems to be pretty good condition, so I grabbed it. Now to learn what I can regarding these old classics.
Wow, that looks too be in great nick. Welcome to the forums.
Those that know can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe there was asbestos used in some parts of these Supercuts. Mainly gaskets for the motor but if my memory is correct, in some other place too, I'm thinking clutch. Just a heads up, that's all. 👍
Would love a Supercut myself, but it's too big! Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
I don't collect mowers. I just require Multiple Mowing Solutions™.
Welcome to the forum some very knowledgable people here i myself have 3 scott bonnar mowers which are a model 33 with a new engine i put on it, a 45 and a diplomat. Tell me is that a villers 12/2 on it as i have one of those mounted on a compressor. I would love to get a super cut one day though. Enjoy the forum
