Sean, The first hover lawnmowers were Flymos - and they embraced the design
in a whole new application - a mower that could float on air.
They have retained a niche market these days - mainly for slope work.

Thanks to your post, I may have cracked how one home around the corner maintain a very steep thatch of buffalo on the nature strip. I could only think Victa 2 stroke self propelled. It would be impossible for a regular rotary mower.
