Polybus a mate of mine recently ordered the some parts related to the carburettor when fixing someone's B&S Victa (I think it was the same as your one actually!!). It does seem to be the main culprit indeed. Bigted, I haven't got around to playing with the Chonda Vic of late, but your post might put it ahead in the queue!
Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!
