Gday Wise Heads
I found this Rex Supaswift 747 mower dumped in the car park of my kids' primary school. Kids want to do it up for their Mum. Love this as it fits with teaching them to fix and not just tip and buy new but...

Can anyone help me with what model it is and where I can buy parts? It started no problem just with adding some petrol and a little in the air inlet. I'm near Nth Ringwood in Melb.

Also some advice please. Is this beyond a basic bush mechanic? (I can change oil, bolt on blades and plugs, clean carby bowl perhaps but beyond that... not really) If so does anyone here want it? I'd be so happy to see it go to a good home. I'd hate to tip it. Happy even to deliver to anywhere in Melb within a reasonable arc of Ringwood to Eltham

Also I'm not sure if it suits as their Mum only needs a tiny mower as her lawn is only about 4m2 and ideally light and easy to start. This mower does need a bit of a hefty pull. There are always more free mowers on nature strips!

If I repair it the first thing it needs is some blades. But I can't find anything like them on eBay or Bunnings. So if you can point to good sites or places for parts, especially blades that would be great. The existing ones, branded UTA, are in very bad condition. ( I don't want them anywhere near my kids!) See pics they measure (approx 1mm margin for error):

length 117mm
width 41 mm
The have 15mm dia round hole to mount them which is about 13mm from the end of the blade
The bolts have a square 1/4 or perhaps 5/16 section on the shank which matches the inside of the mounting flanges that allow blades to rotate. They are "cupped" at the mounting end.

It will also need a replacement air cleaner housing but I guess aftermarket on eBay? Can I use for a new plug anything that fits a B+S 4hp engine also via Ebay?

Thanks for your help!

Regards Nick
