Thank you both for that...I see my suspicions were correct...now is it ok to 'roll your own' HT lead out of Car type silicon lead material?
No. It needs to be stranded copper wire core, and thin enough to fit into that coil hole. Measure the hole ID for a size indication - the lead needs to be a neat fit.
