As far as lubrication is concerned it can be done a couple of ways.

I generally use a large syringe(available at any chemist over the counter)and fill it with grease. I file the exit point where the needles fit over with a flat on each side so that it fits into a small crevice without much leakage. Then I'll grab the bearing which you should previously clean out in clean petrol or similar to easure it is thoroughly spotless inside.

Now wiggle the inner bearing race so that you create a slight gap between the inner race and the side shield and squeeze some grease in through the gap. Do this around the bearing at various points but not too much. You should now be able to feel that the bearing has a smooth running action.

The other way is to get some thicker grade oil and force it into the bearing via the same side access. Once again remember to clean it thoroughly prior to doing this.
