Here is the Victa 1970 range - introduced in the spring of 1969, this would
be the precursor of great things to follow in the next decade.

Perhaps the most 'artistic' of Victa booklet covers of the day, the
'shagadelic Yeah Bay!' cover background was a clear statement that Victa was
modern, groovy and the mower to have, and the premier mower on the market
was the flagship Victa Corvette.

This was the introduction of the Series 70 engines, the first to have a
workable, governed engine. The carby that made it possible was the G3
carburettor (a refinement of Victa's short-lived G2 carburettor).

This would be two seasons before the release of decompressor engines,
so starting was still by American trip release wind-up starters, but new
features, like plastic 'Armourlite' catchers, Magic-Eye catcher indicators,
and the like were all new features. Note that the Victa Code for spare parts
is absent, suggesting a start date for the next season.

This would be just one season before the release of the game-changing VC
range; that probably consolidated Victa as an Aussie icon. Also of note is
that in 1970 Victa became a division of the Sunbeam Corporation.

The rest is history.
