For sure, this Model 4 is a great starter project.
It would be a good time to get the lad started on 'organised dismantling' - i.e. putting the bits from different sections in separate containers. A collection of tin cans and ice cream containers is invaluable for this.
And taking progressive pics - it's not always easy to work out how to reassemble say, a carby, from parts diagrams alone.
Probably also good to stick to the simple manual techniques as much as possible, too, for cleaning parts etc.
