Hi all,
I got home from the studio this evening, pulled up my drive and stopped dead with this confused look on my face.
The wife looked at me "What's wrong?" she said "There's a mower in the yard" I replied. "Yes dear, there's lots of mowers in the yard; what's your point?" she said in a confused and concerned tone. "That's not mine" I said pointing to a Victa sitting proudly by the front steps. "How do you know that?! You can't see the grass for the mowers out here!!!" she stated in a less than impressed voice. It went on and on like that for a while but the end result was some dud had left a mower in my front yard with a note on it asking me to fix it for him. No phone call, no communication, nothing just dropped the mower off and left a note "Hai Peeter please fix my mower and call me first. Michael 04XXXXXXXX".
I had a quick look at it and think I know what the problem is likely to be

Seems he has tied fencing wire onto the governor arm. Not even going to waste my time with this one. Sent him a text (Phone number was on the note) giving him until 9am to pick it up or I will wheel it out onto the kerb for someone to take. Would have been different had he tried to call me before just rocking up and leaving it there!
Not sure but I think this is the same guy who picked up a non running talon, brought it around for me to fix only wanted to pay me $30 to clean the carb (Started again) and told me not to unjam the governor when it was revving off it's head because he didn't want to pay for it. I told him he'd be back in a week and it was extremely dangerous to be running it the way it was. 3 days later I get home from work and he dropped it off - big hole in the side of the crank case with a note asking me to fix it!
Anyway, had a good laugh at the handiwork.
