Paul, it is an intriguing and unusual machine isn't it? I would like to know more about Queensland's Falcon Mowers, and find an original brochure on the ride-on.
The wide base of the rear wheels makes me think this was a machine designed to take a wider cut ... maybe.
Every now and then these unusual designs spring up... like the reel equivalent to your Falcon, the British Anzani Easimow (not sold here):
These machines just catch the imagination. And you have one! I suspect you are an astute collector, probably influenced by Slim Dusty in your childhood.
p.s. That's an interesting point you make about early music influence: "it has been burnt in to my subconscious for Eternity."
There is no denying that good country music is soulful and is in harmony with rural life and experience. I guess that reflects its being influenced by the blues genre.
I have a love / hate relationship with country:
Love: Hate:
I can't wait for you to get this machine, and share with us - and record for history - the little Falcon Trike Mower. Safe trip.
The rest is history. ------------------------------ Jack
