Hi, I have a similar story to Langdon, so thought it best to continue in this thread. Apologies if this is a no-no.
I have acquired a secondhand Masport Craftsman 635x Series 2 from my mother-in-law
It is (found thanks to the info in this thread)a Model 90702, Type 0130-01 & Code 86053008 with Briggs & Stratton Magnetron 4 stroke and 18" disk blade cutter assembly (I think).
Problems:
1. The pull cord has seemingly disappeared into the assembly (I just have a loose plastic handle) and I cannot see any way to get it out (if it is in there) as the assembly seems spot-welded in place.
2. The blades are in a bad way, probably from being used in an overgrown, uneven rocky garden....
3. It likely needs a goods service too.
Questions:
1. Is there a service manual available for this model?
2. Are spare blade parts still available? I found another thread covering blade parts and it
may require a '529578' kit but I wouldn't know if it was 7/8" or 25mm.
3. Are engine service parts available (i.e. air filter, spark plug), if required?
4. Is it worth persevering with this or should I just let her slip away peacefully
