Hello,
My apologies if I posted this in the wrong forum. Bit confused between 'mowers and 2-stroke engines' and 'brush cutters and trimmers'.
I have a Ryobi trimmer that recently stopped working and would not start no matter what. I have taken the following actions methodically. I have also attempted to start the trimmer at the completion of every step.
1. Put fresh fuel. Ratio of 25:1 as recommended.
2. Dismantled engine and cleaned piston head and cylinder. Renewed seals.
3. Replaced spark plug. Checked for spark. All ok.
4. Cleaned muffler.
I am following the full choke - half choke - open routine, including making sure that there is fuel in the bulb.
All my attempts to start the trimmer have resulted in the engine flooding and the engine just refuses to fire.
I have also noticed then on full choke position, there is fuel leaking from the gap between the choke lever and the carb when I begin pulling the start cord. No leaks otherwise.
Short of rebuilding the engine completely I think I have pretty much exhausted my options. Unless I am missing/overlooking something ?
Your help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
