Pope entered the lawnmower market just on the cusp of the rotary revolution in 1949.
However, its first models were reel mowers in hand, electric and petrol variants.

By 1957, Pope introduced its first rotary lawnmower, the 320-01.
This had a buttercup coloured aluminium base and streamlined cowling.

By 1958, Pope introduced a radically different, pressed-steel base. This is the
persimmon (red-orange) coloured model that would give Pope a good reputation throughout the 1960s.
