My memory of it was to get to the stop wire, take of the black motor start, which holds to spark plug from hitting the ground or bench when you sit it down. When the cover is off you may be able to get to it with long nose pliers. The proper way is to remove clutch housing at drive shaft end of machine, clutch drum, clutch assy, then starter/motor cover assy. There is a small torx head screw down the center of the clutch drum drive shaft hole. You will need to put a piston stop into the spark plug hole or starter rope wedged in the hole between the top of the piston and the top of the cylinder top.
