I have never heard of anyone attempting that modification, as the Scotty clutch, carefully adjusted works fine...and is a good safety feature, as the cutter can be disengaged when removing/replacing the catcher. There are pros and cons of the centrifugal clutch, and obviously the SB engineers decided on the friction drive as the best solution at the time. wink
