Ten year old unit, the lower bearing on connecting rod failed (crank bearing). Replacement piston/rod installed with same results only this time in short order (30min.). Help with proper install is needed. Should I have greased this bearing before install? Failure that soon leads me to believe fuel mix might be off. However the same gas is used for Homelite ST-285bc with no problems. Crank arm seems to be "score-less", no blueing, cylinder walls are very clean (no gouges etc.). Main crank bearing seems ok, no binding, free wheeling. Sooo I'm at a loss, so far $35.00 in parts. Rest of unit is in great condition. Alittle or alot of help would greatly be appreciated!!!
