That's a sensational machine! I think you might have an important find here Ian.
So what is it?My guess is the "A" stands for . . .

I speculate this is an early machine, maybe
1956? The ad. above dates from 1957.
The locally manufactured wheels are an important clue to me in that it all but confirms
that
Atco rotaries were NOT imported.
Second, the Sydney engine and the Sydney wheels suggest that
Atco Australiawas situated somewhere in Sydney (no surprises there). Damn that incomplete decal/transfer
The colour does look like faded Atco green too.
NOTE: This case is
not settled though. I have evidence that
Vinco did make a mower.
I also know that
Vinco is known more for its
marine engines. My main evidence is the "A" and the
clear similarity to the known Atco rotaries presented in advertising.
All very interesting.
