I can usually avoid that focus problem just by setting the phone camera on macro, and backing it away from the subject until it comes into focus on the viewing screen. Then I crop the image to get it to the correct size. Doesn't take long, and I can rotate it or whatever, while I'm cropping it.

Looks like it was scrapped because the previous tenant interchanged the primer hoses and then couldn't start it, and maybe also because after not running for a while it was all crudded up internally, and the previous tenant didn't know how to clean it. I think you've done well there - it should be a decent little saw.
