I guess the best way to describe back pressure is to do a little experiment: take a deep breath, close your mouth, close one nostril and breath out as fast as you can. Then repeat with your mouth and both nostrils open..... a self evident answer to both your questions

(and make sure the bushmans blow doesn't make a mess)
