Gone a bit further and was able to get the crank pin off eventually.
Photos attached of the piston, cylinder is in good condition. I was wrong about the rings, they actually do move quite a bit, the piston is scored on the exhaust side but otherwise in good condition. I'm now confused, if rings are ok, cylinder is ok, what next?
