Hi Bob, I will need some more info....Model number, name, engine serial number etc...in fact anything you find on the mower will help narrow it down and hopefully we will know when it was manufactured.
Having never have worked on this model ATCO before, I will hazard a guess....I would do as you suggested...unbolt the engine, slip it sideways and fit the coupling and re-secure the engine. Please let us know how you get on....
