Hi Dave, well, for a start it is a 17" not 16" machine, twin rail engine deck...so would most probably have been manufactured between 1973 and 79. If it still had the original Briggs and Stratton we could have the number string stamped into the air cowling...that would have given us the manufacture date of the engine and a closer date for the Scotty.
It has not got the original handles.....those are from a "SB Lawn King" mower (a variant of the Model 45), Hammertone blue in colour. wink
Its engine has been replaced by this later model....if we can get the complete string of numbers from the air cowling we can give you more info on this engine. wink
