I think that's the way I'm headed, I'll also be gently doing what I can for the surface rust it has developed over the years, without being aggressive enough to take paint.
And some area's may get a clear coat put on, but to keep it minimal, I'm looking at a protective spray used for paper, which i will be testing on other metal surfaces before applying, to make sure it does not leave a thick or obvious film.
But I have some more experiments to do (on other mowers of coarse) before I decide the exact preservation method to be used.
And after thinking about it today, I have decided once and for all, it will indeed not be started, you can't go back from giving up the never started tag!
