If you go to a mower shop they will have a clip for the axle.
The steel base uses a straight clip (front axle only). The alloy bases use one that is like a W shape. If you grunt hard enough you can get a straight clip to fit.
Theres probably a pic in the shop on the site here. You could just buy one there.
