I remember when I was young probably late 50's early 60's when we lived on the farm in Gippsland and a neighbor bought a Lanz Bulldog. We could hear him from a mile away every time he started it up. I just remember the bloke saying he had to be careful every time he started it to make sure the motor was running in the right direction otherwise he ended up with a bucket full of reverse gears and only one forward gear
