Hindsight is a wonderful thing so no, I did not drain the oil before I tipped the mower over or afterward. I now imagine I have filled the top end of the engine with oil but thought it would have cleared by now. Yes, I have the owners manual already but this does not offer much of a break down unfortunately.
Due to the need to have the throttle set to the choke position all the time I had been under the impression I was looking for a vacuum leak. My usual course of action was to grab the WD40 or RP7 and with the engine running spray around the engines gasket joints and listen for a raise in engine RPM. Have not done this yet due to lack of time and an uneasy feeling I am missing something.
