Nothing wrong with them speedy.

A mate bought one new in the late 00’s and has used it on a massive lawn ever since. Each mow takes basically a full tank and it still goes strong, even though it wasn’t serviced between 2012 and 2018.

The wheels are useless – I swapped on 4x Mcculloch mower wheels which are double ball bearing cast aluminium with rubber tread.

The original throttle levers are junk as well. Carby is somewhat easy to clog and adjusting RPM by removing cowl is stupid.

MF, they are a bit under powered – I think it is a briggs 148cc clone, though some were more like 160cc. Much of the issue is owed to a lightweight quickcut blade bar – like masport. No inertia means easy to stall.

Decks are the most solid steel deck you could want for. When the original motor dies, it will be getting a Briggs quantum.
