My 1978 CL Valiant 4.0 six had it too. I believe it was introduced in 1973 with the VJ.
Chrysler were already using feed back computer sensor carburettors (ELB -Electronic Lean Burn) by November 1978 with the CM model. The previous CL with the 318 V8 even earlier. 1977 IIRC.
Holden didn't introduce a feedback carb till the VK in 1984 and Ford at the same time with the XF.
Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!
